10. Why are antioxidants important?

Robust levels of antioxidants slow the progression of macular degeneration by 25%. A landmark study by the Age-related Eye Disease Study Research Group showed that higher levels of antioxidants enhance your peak wellness. In a randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial, high-dose supplementation with vitamins C, E, Beta-carotene, and zinc slowed the progression of age-related macular degeneration and vision loss.
